Afghan spinner Rashid Khan has revealed that his county contract with Sussex has been suspended to participate in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Spinner praised the county for understanding Lahore Qalandars ’decision to play for the PSL. “Unfortunately, I only played two games in PSL 6 and had to leave the national duty. Now I had the opportunity to stay in England and here I have to thank Sussex for their help and understanding. I had to decide between losing five games and. playing a whole game seemed like a better option, especially because the fans wanted to play in the PSL, ”Cricket Pakistan Rashid said.
The young winner believes that playing in the PSL will provide a good opportunity for Afghan players and help improve relations between the Pakistan and Afghanistan Cricket Committees.
“For all the players who come from Afghanistan and are playing for PSL, it’s a great opportunity for them to play alongside the best players and improve their cricket,” he said.
“For all the young Afghans who haven’t had a chance to play in other leagues, it’s a great opportunity to prove that they have the skills and talent to play high-level cricket,” Rashid added.
“Playing Cricket between the two countries will increase the love and respect between the players on both sides; the sport is about bringing the Union between the countries,” he said.
The rest of the PSL 2021 matches will be played in Abu Dhabi from 9 to 24 June before the Pakistani men’s team leaves Manchester for the Basque capital on June 25.
There will be six doubles matches, five of them in the playoffs and the sixth on June 21, when the Qualifying and Eliminator 1 games will be played.
The Eliminator 2 match will be played on June 22 and the final on June 24.
On June 9, fourth-placed Lahore Qalandars will face third-placed Islamabad United in what will be their 15th match of the tournament.
