While the world celebrates Cancer Survivor Day on June 6, the actor said he will not let the disease be defined. Sonali was diagnosed with metastatic cancer in 2018 and treated in New York. He finally coped with the disease and emerged victorious. The actor took a picture of himself for a few days in the hospital and combined it with his current happiness.
He wrote the picture: “How time works. When I look back today, I see strength, I see weakness, but the most important thing I see is the will to not let the word C define how my life will be. The life you choose. Travel is what you do … so remember to take #OneDayAtATime and #SwitchOnTheSunshine ”.
The actor has previously spoken out that the positive outlook he has had in the fight has helped him overcome the disease.
Sharing an anecdote about his time in New York City while he was undergoing treatment, Sonali recalled: “We decided, let’s take advantage of this. We spent some time in New York. We were there with the kids. The girls (Sussanne and Gayatri) went they were, the kids went down to school and back. Then we were alone and we liked the city a lot. There was a bit of chemotherapy, surgery was thrown out but we had a great time. “
Tahira Kashyap, a writer and producer, was diagnosed with “stage 0” breast cancer and underwent a mastectomy procedure in 2018.
The 38-year-old shared an Instagram Story and said that cancer scars symbolize strength. “Never be ashamed of the scar. It means you were stronger than the one who tried to hurt you. Everyone has scars, see it or not. Wear yours with pride,” he read her feet.
