Cheteshwar Pujara cannot “wait to enter the pitch” ahead of the opening World Championship Test (WTC) final against New Zealand, which will be played in Southampton from 18 to 22 June. The Indian cricketer, along with the rest of the team, is currently serving a mandatory 10-day quarantine at the Southampton stadium’s indoor facilities after arriving in England on 2 June. On Thursday, Pujarak shared a couple of photos from his room. Instagram and its followers and fans can’t stop talking about the post.
“The views of the quarantine rooms are no better! I can’t wait to get to the field,” Pujarak says in the message.
In response to the message, while some fans were throwing hearts and emojis in the comments box, others asked the Indian Test specialist to do well in the WTC final.
Indian Deputy Captain Rohit Sharma also shared a photo with Southampton goalkeeper Rishabh Pant. “We are in Southampton,” Rohit wrote in the caption box. In the photo, the couple can be seen standing on the balcony of Rose Bowl Stadium.
India will embark on a tour of England with the WTC final, starting on August 4 before facing England in a five-match Test series.
A few days ago, Pujarak shared his photo for the new 2021 season test kit in India. “When you’re in quarantine, work from home,” was the title of the photo.
Pujara became a crucial member of India’s Test Squad in 2018-19 after performances against Australia Down Under. In seven decades, it was one of the first tests that Australian Architects India achieved in the test. He ran 521 races in the four-match Test section under the name of Pujarak, who beat Australia 2-1 in India.
On June 18, when Pujara leaves the pitch to take on New Zealand, his fans will have similar expectations.
