England and New Zealand held their first test of the Lord’s test on Sunday, leaving all two-match series in next week’s final at Edgbaston in the box. The hosts, who set 273 goals in 75 goals, when new captain Kane Williamson testified at lunch on Sunday, the fifth and final day, were 170-3 when a draw was agreed within the last hour. The home team rarely seemed to take on the challenge of Williamson’s statement, as opener Dom Sibley left 60 and 207 balls out of the way to tackle his path.
This match, which was completely clear on Friday’s game, was highlighted when the first great session of the New Zealand opener Devon Conway debuted in the 200 Test test – the highest score of the batting in England.
