Former Cricketer Yashpal Sharma, part of the team that won the 1983 World Cup, died of cardiac arrest | Cricket News

India’s 1983 World Cup winner Yashpal Sharma died of a heart attack on Tuesday in New Delhi. He was 66 years old and lives with his wife, two daughters and a son. “Yes, Yashpal is not with us. We have just received the information from his family,” the former Indian member of the Yashpal group told PTI.

In his international career, Yashpal Sharma played 37 tests, scoring 1,606 races, and in those 42 ODIs he achieved 883 races. He was known for his enthusiastic attitude and the full stroke played in the semi-final against England in the 1983 campaign at Old Trafford will forever be etched in Memories of Indian Cricket fans.

He was also a national selector in early 2000.
