Former Indonesian Olympic gold medalist Markis Kido has died of a heart attack, the game’s governing body told the BWF on Monday. He was 36 years old. “The sad news came: Markis Kido, a former Olympic gold medalist and world champion, has died of a heart attack today. He will be missed,” the Badminton World Federation wrote on its twitter handle. The Indonesian doubles player won the 2008 Olympic gold medal, the 2006 World Cup and the 2007 World Cup with Hendra Setiawan.
