Actress Kriti Kharbanda says she is happy to have a position in her career, refusing a job that doesn’t move her and relying on her Instincts when choosing characters. Kharband premiered in Bollywood in 2016 with “Raaz: Reboot” – seven years after working in the Telugu and Kannada film industries. The actor has since starred in films of many genres: the social drama “Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana” starring Rajkummar Rao, the feature comedies “Housefull 4”, the action thriller “Pagalpanti” and Bejoy Nambiar’s “Taish”.
In an interview with PTI, Kharbanda said it took him five years and several films to finally achieve the luxury he had chosen and to consciously build his career.
“My attempt is to work to make myself so safe, to say no and to have the opportunity and opportunity to make the right choices, which I certainly didn’t have a few years ago.
“I have that opportunity today and I will get the most out of it. I will only do something that really suits me,” Kharbandak said.
The actor called for learning to say no to the “greatest achievement” he has achieved in recent years.
Kharbanda said he would fight earlier without knowing how to deny something without “insulting” people.
“But I realized that no matter what decision you make, someone, somewhere will not be happy. Today, I have come to accept that someone will be unhappy. But I can’t commit to my happiness to please others to do something. The pandemic has also helped give me that perspective. I don’t I want to spend my time doing things I don’t like, ”he said.
From Akshay Kumar’s blockbuster “Housefull 4” to the acclaimed “Taish” in 2020, the 30-year-old actor who worked got some of his filming opportunities, was the result of hearing his voice and not being dictated by people around him.
“There are films that have been offered to me. A lot of people told me I had to make them, but I had a feeling I didn’t. Looking back, it was my favorite. While I accepted the opinions of others, my opinion of myself is most important because I have to live with the choices I make.”
The actor will be seen in the next romantic comedy “14 Phere”.
Along with Vikrant Massey, the film follows two lovers, Sanjay and Aditi, and lies to their parents about each other’s relatives to say yes to their marriage. After the release of “Housefull 4” and Anees Bazmee’s “Pagalpanti,” the actor wanted to switch to other non-comedy films.
Then Kharband found 14 Phere ”.
After the film “Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aaana”, I felt that I wasn’t challenged enough. “Housefull” and “Pagalpanti” were also challenging, but I also wanted to do something that made me feel like I was doing more than that …
“I was in a good space and I thought about going back to light-hearted fun films that allow me to do it. But it’s hard to come across films like that.”
“14 Phere” was written by Manoj Kalwani and directed by Devanshu Singh. He has also directed the acclaimed comedy-drama “Chintu Ka Birthday” 2020.
Kharbanda said the film gave her the opportunity to name a strong character like Aditi, a practical and independent young woman who breaks all stereotypes.
“She’s not a shy and ordinary girl. She’s an accountable, inspiring expert. She doesn’t give love blindly. She understands the practicality of the situation. She has so many mistakes and she’s a girl who uses her. Brains.
“I liked that about it, there was a chance to play a character who was as important as the brain to the heart,” he added.
“14 Phere” will be released on ZEE5 on July 23rd.
