Mahindra has appointed Pratap Bose, a former designer at Tata Motors, to lead the global team

The Mahindra Group announced on Friday that Pratap Bose has been appointed as the new executive chairman and chief design officer to head the newly created Global Design organization. He was vice president of Global Design at Bose Tata Motors before resigning in late April.

Bos has a long-standing relationship with Tata Motors for 14 years and is often recognized as the brainchild of the company’s new generation vehicle design language. In his new role, he would be in charge of Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE) at Coventry in the UK and the existing Mahindra India Design Studio (MIDS). Mahindra said in a press release that it will oversee the design of important business segments, such as real SUVs such as Born Electric Vehicle (BEV) and LCV products.

A former student at the Royal College of Art and National Design Institute in London, Bose has more than 20 years of experience in automotive design. “Our strong pipeline of 23 new products to be marketed over the next five years would lead to our advanced design and engineering capability in Automotive, Farm Equipment and Two Wheels,” said Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director of Automotive and Farming Sectors, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. “Having us in the Pratap team will strengthen our design ability, improve our products and expand our customers.”
