IMDb has so far presented a list of the most popular Indian films and web series of the year. The list includes titles published from 1 January 2021 to 3 June 2021 and is “based on the obvious data of IMDbPro users in India IMDbPro”. While Vijay’s Master film ranks 1st, the Aspirants TVF web series remains on the list. Other web shows on the list are the November story and the Maharani. Interestingly, none of the Bollywood films released this year have a place in the top 10.
Here are the 10 most popular titles of 2021 so far:
1. Master (Amazon Prime Video)
Vijay ‘Talapatia’ is the protagonist of an alcoholic teacher sent to a juvenile school, where he clashes with prisoners and management. In a review of Masterex, Manoj Kumar R of Indianexpress.com wrote: “This is the funniest, most sensible, enjoyable and good-looking film that Master Vijay has made in a long time.”
2. Graduate students (IMF and YouTube)
Starring Naveen Kasturia, Abhilash Thapliyal, Sunny Hinduja and Shivankit Parihar, the aspirants revolve around UPSC aspirants who have been studying civil service for years.
3. White Tiger (Netflix)
Actors Adarsh Gourav, Priyanka Chopra and Rajkummar Rao star in the lead roles, around a young boy who escapes the poverty of the White Tiger who uses his mind. While working as a driver with an Indian couple, he is asked to make a great sacrifice, which in turn affects his affairs. In addition to making a BAFTA gesture, the film nominated Adarsh Gourav for Best Actress.
4. Drishyam 2 (Amazon Prime Video)
Director Drishyam’s Jeethu Joseph has 2 stars Mohanlal, Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Murali Gopy, Saikumar and Asha Sarath. November 5 Story (Disney Plus Hotstar)

The political drama set in Tomorrow’s Chronicles is the journey of a simple housewife Rani Bharti (Huma Qureshi), who has been appointed head of state. Rani not only works with wise politicians, but also fights against patriarchy.
9. Krack (Aha)
The Krack police drama comes after Veera Shankar (Ravi Teja), a hot-headed police officer who takes on the Qatar Krishna gangster (Samuthirakani). Krack was Ravi Texas ’third collaboration with Gopichand Malineni after Don Seenu and Balupu.
