Not only him, but Harshvardhan also shared a long message, part of it reads: “Ray trailer (Spotlight) It’s hard for me to forget how I felt last year. We were locked up without a vaccine, without a cure, there was no immediate resolution and it was getting harder and harder to be optimistic. I was worried and it was raining a lot without my energy output … things seemed dark. I shot my scenes vs AK vs AK but no one saw them, I would completely disconnect them and I couldn’t even imagine that I was reappearing in the set with everything I was doing and crushing things around us.
They say good things happen when you least expect them, I received a message from @Vasanbala on one of those gloomy rainy days … they told me he had something for me and wanted to talk. We got a video call and I have to admit that when he was trying to say what this movie was going to be like or what it was about I didn’t get it right away … he kept saying something to me when I was young. he continued to talk about the “appearance” of the actor and character. I honestly didn’t care, because Vasan had always been someone I wanted to work with. I said yes without even reading a word of the script. Then what happened was the 2 most awesome months of preparing for Lockdown and FaceTiming, reading my scenes out loud and going completely crazy for them just performing in my room. “
The first part of “Ray” is called “Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa”, the second is called “I Don’t Forget”, the third is called “Bahrupiya” and the last one is called “Spotlight”. The revolutionary filmmaker, author and creator of the iconic Satyajit ‘Feluda’ series, is also celebrated for writing some of the best stories he has ever seen in India.
Niren Bhatt and Siraj Ahmed have adapted the stories for the screen as Sayantan Mukherjee showrunner. Watch the trailer here:
