On Monday, the Sony Network broadcaster confirmed the three-match ODI series and the three-match T20I series schedule between India and Sri Lanka. Sony has tweeted the entire schedule of the series. The three ODIs will be played on July 13, 16 and 18, and the T20I series will begin on July 21, with the next two games on July 23 and 25. No Indian players in the traveling team will be in the final of the World Test Championship and the England Test series will be part of the Sri Lankan department.

Former Indian skipper and current head of the Cricket Academy (NCA) coach Rahul Dravid will be the coach of the Indian limited team that will play a six-match series against Sri Lanka in July. This will be his second time with the Indian team in 2014 after touring England as a consultant with the band.

Speaking to ANI, the BCCI official confirmed that he was aware of the developments as the head of the NCA would lead the team as the trio of Ravi Shastri, Bharat Arun and Vikram Rathour will be in England with the Test team.

“Team India coaches will be in the UK and it is best for the young team to be led by Dravid as he has already worked with almost all the ‘A’ guys in India. The comfort that the youngsters share with him will add to the advantage,” the official said.

Prior to taking over as head of the NCA in 2019, Dravid had a close partnership at the U-19 level as well as in India’s ‘A’ team with the current youth team in India.

In fact, the last two years have seen them play a full role in building a strong bench for the national team – in 2015 they took charge of the U-19 and ‘A’ team.
