The BCCI on Tuesday condemned the death of Indian batsman Yashpal Sharma and former World Cup winner, saying the country has “lost a cricket to our hero”. In addition to representing India 79 times internationally, Yashpal was also a prominent national selector, participating in the panel that selected the 2011 World Cup National Team, which will continue to win the tournament. “I am very happy for the disappearance of Yashpal Sharma. We have lost one of our cricket heroes. He was a valuable mid-order bat, sharp pitcher and a nice person off the field,” said BCCI President Sourav Ganguly. .
“His contribution to Indian Cricket will always be remembered. I offer my condolences to his family at this time of grief,” he added.
Ganguly also tweeted a message to the world champion cricketer.
