Bollywood actor Taapsee Pannu announced on Thursday his country’s feature film “Blurr,” which will feature Outsiders Films under his band. Named “Last Seat Thriller,” “Blurr” will be directed by Ajay Bahl, best known for his films like “BA Pass” and “375 Section”. Pannu, who made the film’s announcement on Twitter, said he has supported the project with Zee Studios and Echelon Productions.
“And here’s Slate’s first. A chill that matches the excitement! #BLURR! @ZeeStudios_ #OutsidersFilms & @echelonmumbai come together at the edge of the seat thriller. It’s directed by #AjayBahl,” he wrote.
Bahl co-wrote the story “Blurr” with Pawan Sony. Param Gill and Kabir Lal are credited as co-producers. Praising critics for Hindi Films such as Pannu, “Pink”, “Mulk”, “Manmarziyaan” and “Thappad”, he has teamed up with producer Pranjal Khandhdiya to create Outsiders Films.
In an interview with PTI, the 33-year-old actor said the decision to try film production is organic. “I’m pretty sure the direction isn’t my cup of tea. It was something I thought about getting the production going. As an actor, I like acting, I couldn’t divert attention and focus on something else.
“So the day I have a partner who can direct the ground work, while I’m concentrating on my acting work, is when I start a production and then start a production. That’s when Pranjal came in,” Pannu said.
Khandhdiya has been a producer on films such as “Super 30”, “Piku” and the actor’s “Rashmi Rocket”. Pannu said he is excited to expand his horizons as a producer.
“I didn’t think twice when Pranjal asked me if I wanted a partner with him. And since then I have never stressed the practicality of things and I am happy to jump into this new label of being a producer. ”
The actor said he started the production house with a champion project that he believes in.
“One of the things Pranjal and I have kept is that I only produce the kind of films I will be involved in. That doesn’t mean I have to be a part of every film I produce. It means the types of films I produce. People are the ones who know me as an actor.
“There’s going to be that continuity and consistency, because I can’t believe that I’m a spectator of a green light in a film,” he said. The Delhi-born actor has said that Outsiders Films is the right name for his production house.
“Pranjal and I are of humble origins. Then the name Outsiders Films clicked on us. We aim to produce meaningful, entertaining and quality content, ”he added.
It is unclear whether Pannu will star in the upcoming 2022 film “Blurr.”
The actor has a number of films including Telugu films “Looop Lapeta”, “Dobaaraa”, “Shabaash Mithu” and “Mishan Impossible”.
He was recently seen in the movie “Haseen Dillruba.”
