The Indian Men’s and Women’s Cricket team went on a tour of England on Wednesday. The Indian Cricket Control Commission (BCCI) took to Twitter to share photos of players from both teams. India’s men’s team captain Virat Kohli, women’s team captain Mithali Raj, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Jhulan Goswami were among the only players caught before leaving for England. “Off we go,” the photos were subtitled on Twitter. The men’s team will play six Test matches in England, including the final of the World Test Championship against New Zealand. On the other hand, the Women’s team will compete in a single event, three one-day international and three Twenty20 international events.

The World Test Championship final will be played at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton, starting on June 18, and Kohli, in a virtual press conference ahead of the start, said both India and New Zealand will be on “equal terms”. They are worried about Southampton.

“The conditions (in England) are as strong for us as New Zealand … We will go up to the flight thinking we are on equal terms and that any team is doing well session by hour, hour by hour. That championship is going to win,” Kohli said in a pre-departure press conference.

Mithali Raj, captain of the Indian women’s team, said that most of his players will play a Test match in a long time and that the presence of the men’s team will help them clarify any doubts they may have about playing in the UK.

“I’m sure the girls have been interacting every time they cross. It’s good that the men’s team is here, because they’ve played a lot in the UK and you can ask questions, they can help, now that the girls have spent a lot of time in the Test match,” Mithalik said on Tuesday.
