The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Village officially opened its doors on Tuesday and has begun hosting some of the best athletes in the world ahead of this year’s Games, which will be held from July 23 to August 8. More than 11,000 athletes from the 205 National Olympic Committee and the IOC Refugee Olympic Team will compete in the Games, most of whom will be in the Olympic Village located in the picturesque Harumi Waterfront district of Tokyo. In an effort to become one of the most innovative in the Olympics, Tokyo 2020 uses several autonomous buses within the Village.
