Teenage tennis star Coco Gauff will miss American Olympics after the Tokyo Olympics tested positive for Covid-19, it reported on Sunday. Gauff, as he ran for the fourth round at Wimbledon, tweeted his grief at the age of 17 “when a dream came true”. Gauff, who reached the first quarter-finals of this year’s Grand Slam at the French Open, became the last. outstanding tennis and losing athletes to the U.S. Olympics. “I am very disappointed to share the news, I have tested positive for COVID and I will not be able to play in the Tokyo Olympics,” Gauff wrote.
“It has always been my dream to represent the US at the Olympics and I hope there will be many more opportunities in the future to make that a reality.”
Gauff will be forced into the 25th world Covid-19 Quarantine and Isolation Protocols.
“He tweeted to the patient, ‘I wish TEAM USA the best of luck and safe games for each Olympic opol and the entire Olympic family.”
Gauff won his second WTA solo title in May in Parma. He was first caught in 2019 in Linz.
The Tokyo Olympics tennis event is home to the hosts of the big names Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams, Victoria Azarenka, Angelique Kerber and Bianca Andreescu.
However, Novak Djokovic, the world number one, and Ashleigh Barty both plan to play.
