Indian archers Deepika Kumari and Atanu Das started training in Tokyo on Monday ahead of the upcoming Olympics. The first set of Athletes who had the Indian Olympics landed in Tokyo on Sunday and everyone will start training today. Deepika and Atanu form a mixed team and have started training so that they can best prepare for the Tokyo Olympics. The Indian contingent, which left Tokyo for New Delhi on July 17, was sent to Japan by Indira Gandhi International Airport, arrived safely in Japan and entered the Olympic Games.

88 athletes underwent COVID-19 tests at the airport and were found to be negative. Their PVC cards were also validated at the airport.
Archery would host five events at the Tokyo Olympics: the men’s individual, the women’s individual, the men’s team, the women’s team and the mixed team. The event will begin on July 23 and run through July 31 at the Yumenoshima Park’s archery range.
Archery is a non-medal winning event at the Indian Olympics. However, this time, the country is confident with its archery contingency, as all four qualified competitors have taken part in the competition with good results in previous competitions.
