The legendary Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar has been admitted to the Hindu Hospital based in Khar, Mumbai. The 98-year-old actor was hospitalized last month for a routine check-up and was later discharged. Last year, the screen icon lost his two younger brothers – Aslam Khan (88) and Ehsan Khan (90) – to COVID-19. Kumar, who made his film debut in ‘Jwar Bhata’ in 1944, has appeared in several iconic films over his five decades including ‘Kohinoor’, ‘Mughal-e-Azam’, ‘Devdas’, ‘Naya Daur’. ‘Ram Aur Shyam’, among others.
A friend of the screen icon’s family member Faisal Farooqui said last month that she had been admitted to Kumar Hospital for a routine medical examination. “They agreed to do a routine check. There is no (need) panic or problem. They are problems. His age is the usual tests that need to be done from time to time. He is doing well,” Farooqui told PTI.
Not only him, but also his wife and veteran actress Saira Banu said all the tests have been done by the Medical team and the actor is fine. “Sahab is fine. They will be discharged today. We need your prayers,” Banu said.
