Indian captain Virat Kohli, who landed in England on Friday, took to Instagram to share his photo from the venue of the World Test Championship final on Friday – The Ageas Bowl, Southampton. Kohli posted a picture in his Instagram story, with all his smiles, standing on the floor of the Southampton stadium on the back of the floor. The Indian captain, wearing a black T-shirt, added a heart-shaped emoji to the Instagram story to express his feelings for the place.
Kohli will lead India to the final of the World Test Championship against New Zealand on June 18, followed by five-match tests against England.
Before the team left, Kohli, in a virtual press conference before the start, said the two teams are on “equal terms” with Southampton.
“The conditions (in England) are just as strong for us as New Zealand … We will go up on the flight thinking that we are on equal terms and that any team is doing well session by hour, hour by hour. That championship is going to win,” Kohli said.
The Indian team, after being in the Mumbai quarantine, took a flight to London late on Wednesday and arrived at Heathrow Airport on Thursday.
The Indian Cricket Control Commission (BCCI) shared a video on Twitter on Friday revealing details of the group’s quarantine calendar for left-wing spinner Axar Patel in England.
